camping with troop 119

"In scouting, it's important to be prepared for adventure. Scouting is a great way to accomplish this."
Ryan, Troop 119

Spending time in the outdoors is the cornerstone of Scouting, which is why Troop 119 provides Scouts with opportunities for outdoor adventures nearly every month of the year.

If you check out the troop’s trip schedule, you might find camping, hiking, boating, biking, kayaking, canoeing, climbing and even sight-seeing trips that reflect the wide range of activities Scouts (and parents) can enjoy.

In addition to regular trips open to all Scouts, we also offer High Adventure opportunities for older boys interested in pushing themselves a bit more.  Recent high adventure outings have included ice climbing in the White Mountains, rock climbing and cave exploration.

And when summer vacation rolls around, why not join us at Scout camp?  The troop spends two weeks at Griswold Scout Reservation every summer (usually the first weeks of August). You can find out more about summer camp here.

In addition to physical challenges, fresh air and fellowship, Troop 119’s trip schedule also offers opportunities for advancement (not to welcome time away from wireless – and even electricity!).  Which is why we encourage Scouts (and Scout parents) to join us on as many trips as they can.
